An unreachable place.
A confined space, bounded by a surrounding wall. The viewers can go around the construction, but have neither physical nor visual access to what is happening inside the space.
A mirage. (An illusion.)
Each viewer faces the impossibility of having access, taking part in something that can only be imagined, its only tangible manifestation is the omnipresent wall, the light-effects, reflections, the muffled sound of a party that seems to be taking place inside the space.
A border wall.
This work was made as part of an exhibition in Hamburg, aiming to kindle encounters between locals and refugees. We offered the visitors the opportunity to experience restriction in order to foster exchange and share thoughts regarding territories and forms of power that are at stake within them.
